Luminato Festival
June 5 – 15, 2026
About
Luminato is Toronto's contemporary arts festival. Theatre, music, public installations, dance, and large-scale outdoor commissions spread across the city for 10 days every June. Founded 2007 in response to SARS — the city wanted a reason for tourists to come back.
Most of the programming is free. Past years have included an Anish Kapoor sculpture in Trinity Bellwoods, all-night choirs at Union Station, a 24-hour theatre piece in a hotel room, and a giant inflatable Stonehenge on the Toronto Islands.
When
Festival opens Friday June 5 with a free outdoor concert at David Pecaut Square. Indoor performances run all 10 days. Free outdoor programming peaks on weekends (June 6-7, June 13-14).
Where
David Pecaut Square, 215 King St W, Toronto
Entertainment District
What to expect
